Interview with Artist and Author Meghan Jones
Meghan Jones has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and spent 12 years designing knitting patterns for renowned publications such as Vogue Knitting before returning to her fine art roots in 2021. In 2023, a chance encounter with deep-sea scientists, who shared striking images from some of the ocean’s most remote habitats, sparked her imagination and reignited a childhood fascination with science. Today, Meghan combines a modern impressionist painting style with research-driven art to raise awareness and foster a deeper appreciation for the mysteries of the deep ocean.
Meghan, participated in the 2025 Under the Sea Virtual Exhibition. The panel of judges chose her art piece, “Mariana Snailfish” as the best piece that represented the category “Restores the viewer’s relationship with the ocean.”
