  • “I have been so pleased with every aspect of the Moku Art Studio's Under the Sea virtual exhibition. As soon as I read about the judges and their backgrounds, I knew it would be an incredible show. I loved their mix of expertise in the sciences and the arts. I really think that the intersection of science and art is the key to protecting and saving the world's oceans. Every aspect of the competition and the launching of the show has been incredibly professional. Frieda goes above and beyond to publicize the work and connect it with a wider audience. She is a pleasure to work with. The added bonus is learning about other artists and how they use their work to think about the ocean and to advocate for it.”

  • “The Under the Sea exhibition was an incredible way to share my work on an international platform hosting a niche audience alongside other artists from all over the world!”

  • “It was a great experience for me to be with other people who were concerned about the future of the ocean and living things with the Under the Sea exhibition.”

  • “Several artists, myself included, are focusing on showing marine biodiversity, or habitats per se….With several true ‘art-science’ pieces addressing the process of scientific exploration, or particular hypothesised concepts, I think it is really cool that the exhibition has a strong Art-Science background, bringing the board of scientists into the curation process….Overall, I think that in the context of change & the challenges our species is facing, with multiple gaps still existing in the understanding of our own planet, the independent nexus points where scientific exploration, science communication and environmentalism meet the currents of contemporary arts sphere are of paramount importance. That is why I was really glad to contribute my art to the UNDER THE SEA exhibition; I hope that the project will evolve and continue carrying out its wonderful mission!”

  • “Our ocean ecosystems are constantly being endangered by human activity. Changes are happening so fast and so often that I was really grateful to participate in Moku Arts Studio's exhibition UNDER THE SEA. An online presence of my artwork can reach a larger audience and create a greater influence and understanding of the effects of underwater sound pollution. I personally loved the idea of the map and how I could trace the other participants’ work as well as finding out about more established artists through the panel of judges. Being part of an online art exhibition that has the protection and sustainability of our oceans as a mission was truly an honour.”
